Twilight Zone | The Want of Fringe

I was minding my own business, watching the essential Twilight Zone episodes, when the episode "The Midnight Sun" began and Lois Nettleton's hair appeared. As I realized that many of these ladies had the same small, piece-y bangs, something very bad happened: I wanted small, piece-y bangs.

This is in fact very bad because fringe and I have a troubled past. In middle-school (a.k.a the best time in everyones' lives) I was obsessed with having those giant, side-swept bangs that everyone had. Unfortunately, the combination of curl/wave and my cowlick did not agree with this aspiration. Hence about four-years of cringe-worthy school photos.

If I've learned one thing so far in life it's that you shouldn't fight your natural hair. After this revelation, I never once attempted an actual bang-cut; there were many a side swept, or face-framing layer, but never bangs. Well friends, I'm probably about to do something very foolish, but I think its time to give fringe another go. Wish me luck.

  1. Seeing your Instagram, I think you look absolutely gorgeous with your bangs ! I've been obsessing with those kind of haircuts too lately but I'm not sure I should give fringe a go... Bad bad bad experience in the past... Let's just remind ourselves that glasses, small forehead and bangs do not get along, especially when you're too lazy to get your bangs fixed once and awhile... Results? Lots of cringe-worthy pictures of me with my head held high because my bangs are in the way.... Oops anyway, great post and great hair cut Amanda :)

    1. Thanks so much! It is quite scary to take the plunge into a fringe, but so far it hasn't been too bad! :)
