Outfit 70 | Merry Christmas 2024
This Christmas dress was done in record-time! From start to finish it was complete in under a week and that is including hand-embroidery. Oh, the things I can do with uninterrupted time to create. For this cute and simple strapless mini, I used a couple of white fabrics I had left in my stash from previous projects. I saw a video of someone adding little embroidered bows onto a sweater, and knew immediately what I needed to do to make this dress more festive. I need to embroider more. Needlework is so relaxing, the perfect cozy craft to do with a holiday movie on in the background (my movie of choice was Our Little Secret).
There is a secret to this simple dress, and that is that it has boning in the lining to provide extra shape and support, without any of the channels being visible (so clever!). I found through this process that zip ties work perfectly for lightweight boning.
Happy holiday season, and may the rebirth of a new year bring you a feeling of contentment of what is now, and excitement of what you can make.
